Fishermen’s Trail
“The sun is never as beautiful as on the day one sets out on a journey.”
Jesan Giono
I walked the Fishermen’s Trail in Portugal, and it was a magnificent experience. The cliffs overlooking the ocean, the steps on the golden sand, the sound of the waves, the noise of the wind: these are just some of the magnificent gifts this trail can offer. I covered a total of 140 km divided into 6 stages, starting from the small village of Almograve and finishing at the iconic lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente. Stage by stage, I tried to capture the journey both through landscape anecdotes and more introspective reflections. Like every journey, the trip is mostly within ourselves, and each of us experiences different, personal emotions. But what remains for everyone is the unchallenged beauty of nature, its power, and its ability to make us feel free and in harmony. Step by step, we start listening to ourselves and discover new things about who we are, perhaps because in this hectic world, we rarely take the time to stop, to organize our thoughts, and to answer the most difficult question of all:
“But deep down, who am I?”
